Dr. Richard Bruce Lamptey is a distinguished academic librarian and information science expert with extensive experience in digital libraries, data curation, institutional repositories, and open access advocacy. He serves as the Deputy Librarian at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and as the College Librarian for the College of Science.
 
Dr. Lamptey is renowned for his leadership in promoting open science and digital transformation within Ghana’s academic library sector. He has been instrumental in establishing open access repositories across the country and played a pivotal role in introducing Ghana’s first institutional open access mandate at KNUST. As the EIFL Country Coordinator for Ghana, he collaborates with the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Ghana (CARLIGH) to enhance access to scholarly e-resources nationwide.

His professional affiliations include serving on the Governing Council of the Ghana Library Association, acting as Associate Editor of the Ghana Library Journal, and participating as a board member of SPARC Africa. Dr. Lamptey is also a reviewer for several international journals and serves as the Research4Life Country Connector for Ghana.
